The New York City Teachers’ Jazz Band is a 21 piece ensemble offering an inimitable big band sound that has excited and pleased audiences for years. Made up of professional musicians who also teach in the New York City’s public schools, the band entertains at restaurants, private parties, corporate meetings, civic gatherings, university and school functions. This band’s mission is to create positive learning and exposure to students and teachers through professional development. The Teachers’ band entertains and educates with music that is rich and timeless.
The Teachers' Band arrangements are in the style of Thad Jones and Mel Lewis, Stan Kenton, Chuck Iwanusa and modern big band repertoire.
